Cobb Friendship Club
donates $23,000 to charities

Cobb County Friendship Club will hold its mid-year allocation ceremony Wednesday, July 18, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Commissioners' Meeting Room on the second floor of Cobb County Building A, 100 Cherokee Street.

Eighteen charities are scheduled to receive a composite amount of $23,000, which has been donated by approximately 1,300 county employees. The amount that employees agree to donate to the Friendship Club is deducted from their paychecks.

"By giving their own money, employees show how they truly care about the citizens they serve," said Friendship Club committee member Tony Coker. (7-01)
