Send us your tired, your poor, your huddle masses yearning to work for free
You don't need all those Paul Reveres on Motorcycles riding across the country to warn us of the illegal alien invasion from Mexico to realize something’s really wrong.
Many people say our millionaires in Congress aren't really trying to stop the alien invasion because America needs "Cheap Labor."
That’s what the whole immigration issue is about. Business doesn't want to pay a decent wage. Consumers don't want expensive produce. Government will tell you Americans don't want those jobs, but the bottom line is cheap labor
But how “cheap” is it really?
One of our readers sent us an item exposing the "cheap labor" myth, calling it a farce, and a lie, because there's no such thing as "cheap labor."
It says: take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children.
He takes a job for $5 or $6 per hour.
At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return, he gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.
He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent.
He qualifies for food stamps.
He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care.
His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school.
His children require bilingual teachers and books.
He qualifies for relief from high energy bills.
If they are or become, aged, blind or disabled, they qualify for SSI.
Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare.
All of this is at over-taxed payers' expense.
Our “guest worker” doesn't worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowner's insurance.
Over-taxed payers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material.
He and his family receive the equivalent of $20 to $30 per hour in benefits.
Working Americans are lucky to have $5 or $6 hour left after paying their bills and his.
The American over-taxed payers also pay for increased crime, graffiti, and cleaning-up beer bottles at municipal soccer fields on Sundays because our illegal aliens ignore signs in English that says “Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.”
Cheap labor?
We don't think so!
